My epic journey at Telstra: Technology Specialist
I believe that unless you are challenged enough, you may not reach your full potential and never become the best that you can be.
This urge to be my best self, emerged during my early professional life where I was driven by my passion to explore and work on different technologies.
Cut to now, two years working at Telstra, I can look back and proudly say what an epic journey it has been so far.
Working at Telstra in India
Being the first female to join the team, I was initially hesitant about my experience but instantly felt welcomed and accepted as a part of the team. It was like a home coming.
In my current role as a Software Engineer in Telstra’s Innovation and Capability Centre (ICC) in Bangalore, I work closely with talented experts across teams, from architects to customer service leaders.
We use automation and microservices applications to integrate offerings that support our customers with real-time tracking of their services.
I feel privileged as my work plays an important role in offering a great experience to our customers that empowers them to get support easily.
Wings of freedom
The most interesting and exciting part of my job is being able to explore new ways of solving problems. This has allowed me to work on cloud-based technologies, such as AWS, Cloud foundry and several other technologies including Spring boot, Apache integration, React, Cloud task, Docker and Kubernetes.
I try new technologies and propose new ideas that could solve different issues. I feel happy these ideas are welcomed and implemented into the ecosystem. It’s also great to see how my team can collaborate and work together on this innovative work.
I always feel valued, supported and encouraged personally and professionally. Everyone is always ready to help here at Telstra.
In fact, our leaders never shy away from connecting with us. Telstra’s open culture enables everyone to connect with any person in the company. Executives and leaders are accessible, approachable and happy to guide and help you, because they want you to succeed and grow.
For instance, I had an opportunity to share ideas on integrating the microservices applications for internal management, which was supported by my leaders. Our team then implemented the change and we saw better performance management and monitoring, which was a great result.
Live your dreams at Telstra
No matter what your experience is, if you are passionate about technology, learning and exploring, and want to work for a company where you can make a difference, Telstra is the right place for you.
