Network Solution Architect – EMEA (Germany)

As a Network Solution Architect, you thrive on applying your deep understanding of our customer’s business strategies and technology needs, playing an integral role in unlocking the potential of business opportunities across EMEA. You partner with Telstra’s most strategic customers to grow their business, acting as their trusted advisor and nurturing the health of our customer relationships.  You will lead the pre-sales technical consulting engagements to external customers, utilising subject matter expertise to define requirements, envision capabilities and identify Telstra portfolio services and solutions in line with the clients financial and performance targets. This role is first and foremost a customer facing technical solution design role, specialising in international Wide Area Networks (WAN) and network security technologies. In doing so you identify high-value, high-profit sales solutions that directly contribute to Telstra’s growth.

Note: Germany is our primary location for this role

  • Customer facing solution selling of Telstra International’s Data and IP and Managed Network Services product portfolios (including managed firewalls and portfolio perimeter security services).
  • Evangelising Telstra’s Data & IP and Managed Network Services portfolio to customers and qualifying new sales opportunities to ensure they are aligned to our portfolio’s technical sweet-spot in order to underpin a winning sales strategy.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for the delivery of technical pre-sales consulting and solutions design production, achieving the on-time delivery of stakeholder endorsed high-level technical network solution designs in line with customer requirements, Telstra ability to deliver and the agreed target budget.
  • Ensure that any technical documentation and design diagrams produced are accurate and sufficiently detailed for the ordering, delivery and engineering teams to understand the solution in order to ensure a smooth delivery   
  • Contributing to thought leadership through the development of client facing solution sales materials on key topics and contributing to the development of reusable intellectual property
  • Actively identifying and managing the development of business opportunities and assisting the sales teams qualify, build and close opportunities.
  • May have business accountability in addition to a technical consulting specialisation, aligned to either a technology or product specialisation, industry segment and /or customer account.
  • Collaborating with Telstra Purple’s Network and Security Professional Services (PS) team in EMEA, ensuring that new PS opportunities are identified and technically well qualified, then collaboratively defining the scope of PS required to deliver the customer’s desired outcome, relative to what is included in the standard product construct.
  • Collaborating with Account Teams and Product Management including supporting Sales Enablement sessions on Telstra’s Data and UP and Managed Network Services Product portfolio and sharing details on new and emerging technologies and market trends.

The qualifications / experiences you’ll bring include:

  • Experienced in designing and costing robust managed network service solutions using the following technologies.
    • SD WAN technology (ideally Cisco (Viptela and Meraki) and/or Velocloud)
    • Connectivity solutions to Cloud Service Providers (notably AWS, Microsoft)
    • Network routing and switching protocols and technologies, specifically Cisco network routing technology
  • Highly proficient in the use of MS Office tools and Visio as well as associated vendor tools (e.g. CCW) to effectively consolidate, document and communicate these solutions to the customer and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong business German communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to story-tell a proposition to a variety of stakeholders
